Now, the mosque remains an important part of the entire temple.

On the Obligation to Keep One’s Promises Essay -- Essays Papers

On the Obligation to Keep Ones Promises Moral philosophy is generally in rocking horse of the ought. More specifically, a common goal is to create some sort of rubric for evaluating specific situations, and in the face of a decision, revealing what ought to be d atomic number 53. A very important and consequently complicated ought is that which dictates if one should keep a promise. This topic is so vast that is seems it would take a great deal of exploit to make progress towards an answer, and in fact, there have been volumes of philosophy written about this very subject matter. Two 18th-century moral philosophers who tackled this mammoth rather successfully are Immanuel Kant and David Hume. The backbone of Kants moral philosophy is what he calls the categorical imperative. In the Grounding for the Metaphysics of Morals, Kant uses the preface and the first section to introduce and develop the idea, and so in the sulphur section finally states it for the first time Act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time give that it should become a customary law. (Kant, Grounding for the Metaphysics of Morals, pg30)1. The maxim Kant speaks of is simply the motive behind the act, and a universal law is one that is a priori, namely, a law of position in general without regard to difference of its objects. (Grounding, pg1). The categorical imperative states that an act should only be preformed if the motive driving the action could become a universal law, and therefore could be applied always regardless of the specifics of a situation. It should seem obvious now that the categorical imperative is directly related to the question of whether one should or should not keep a promise. In... ...ames. W. Ellington translation. Childhood Obesity Essay -- Obesity in Adolescents

Childhood ObesityIntroductionThe past several decades have seen an escalating trend in the rate of childishness corpulency non only in the United States where 25%-30% of children are affected, but also in many of the industrialized nations. Childhood obesity has continued to be a major issue in the public health care system. The economic cost of the medical expenses as swell as the lost income resulting from the complications of obesity both in children and adults has been estimated at almost $100 billion (Barnes, 2011). Overweight children are more predisposed to the danger of becoming overweight in their adulthood unless they visualize healthier eating habits and exercise. It is expense noting that the current lifestyle in which many children spend a lot of time watching television as well as the consumption of sugary and fatty foods has significantly contributed to the high prevalence of childhood obesity.Regarding the causes of childhood obesity, several theories of etiolog y including genetic, developmental, and environmental, have been proposed. Despite the prevalence of childhood obesity rising dramatically over the past 3 or 4 decades, major challenges still face the fight against the condition due to its underdiagnosis and undertreatment. It is worth noting that with careful physical examination and evaluation of disease history, unnecessary diagnostic procedures and the need for expensive equipment can be avoided. Given the rising concern virtually childhood obesity, this paper will discuss several issues. These include the history, epidemiology, etiology, course and prognosis onset, and how the disorder is represented in the DSM IV TR with its associated features.History of childhood obesityThe health risks associated with ob... ... and substance abuse in the DSM-IV. Therefore, some people have strongly suggested that childhood obesity be regarded as a food colony which has a psychological origin and thus deserves to be fully represented in the DSM-IV TR (OBrien & Volkow, 2007).It is also vital to note that despite the increasing association among obesity and mental health, this relationship has been inconsistently confirmed in literature. For instance, researchers have established that as a child grows to yound adulthood, the prevalence of obesity and depression increases. legitimate prospective studies and a significant number of cross sectional studies have alluded to the link between obesity and depression. However, a precise summary of the links between the two conditions is unavailable in literature (Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences Management & Yagnik, 2009, p. 4).

Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom Essay -- essays research

Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom This isnt technically a book that I read when I was in the properly defined age group, but looking back at this book it is probably the book that has had the largest impact on my life, and had it been out when I was young would have been a book that I would have read. I read this book after I had finished reading Tuesdays with Morie by the same author. straight I have read a lot of books in my life and I cant think of one that has had a more lumbering affect on me than The Five People you Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. It is the story of a man named Eddie who for almost his whole life was the care man at an amusement park called Ruby Pier. The story starts with the end of Eddies life on Earth and the beginning of his journey through heaven. The canonical story wasnt what got to me, it was the lessons Eddie learns along the way as he meets the five flock he was to meet in heaven. Throughout the book we are introduced to people from h is past, some he knew and some were just a glimpse in his life. They all had something that they had to teach Eddie about life. Each had a different lesson that Eddie needs to reckon before he can move on in heaven. The first person that Eddie meets was a member of the freak show his name was Joseph Corvelzchchik, and he was cognise as the blue man and I think that out of all the people Eddie meets he has the most thought provoking quotes. The blue man died when ...

My Personnel Narrative

Personal Narrative Marathon- Unforgettable Moment On my right my mom was retention my hand tightly and giving me an advice to stay with my elder brother and his comrade, Rushi, she was saying Dont let him go anywhere without you to both of them as she was speculate to run separately from ladies section. They paid no attention to her because she give tongue to that just a few minutes ago. We were in one of the most important and storied marathons in Vadodara, India (first ever counterbalancet held in the city)It became so popular as the fund raised from the event was supposed to be donated to cancer curing organizations and organizers make lots of publicity of the event. It was half past six and thousands of people gathered on an area land of thirty square miles. Hundreds of runners around the country and piece participated in the marathon. The Marathon was divided into 5 miles, 10 miles and 21 miles. I was one of them participating in 5 miles running I was proud, showing tak e out to my brother that I went to a marathon at the age of 10 and he didnt. In just 15 minutes the runners were going to start the greatest marathon in history (at least for me). The moment was coming closer and closer. My heart was beating very hard. It was a chilly, windy and most brisky day in the calendar month November. It was November 22, 2010. I will always remember that date. Children shouting like birds, men talking about cricket and girls giggling made me think about one thing- Do people usually wake up at six in the morning to chat like a debate? The smell of the washed shirts as well as the sweat of the people was sharply irritating.I was amazed that people sweating on such a chilly day and before even starting the marathon. The morning was freezing cold-I was sneezing with a running nose. Achoo came one from me We should have brought Razornax or something. Its so cold. Despite my irritation and cold I was excited. In the excitement, we didnt realize that the event was not very safely organized at least for a 10 years boy The foreman Minister of Gujarat was going to inaugurate the event and hence the security arrangement was very tight. The ground was filled with lots of policemen on top of maddening crowd. The go of the Marathon to the track was extremely narrow and people were pushing from all around to take glimpse of the Chief Minister. I was just 200 yards off from the START line. My brother was on the right side trying to go to the left of me because Rushi was there. The minute he went there I stopped to ask him and soul pushed me from behind- Boom The next moment I was on the ground shouting, Help, Shikhar, Rushi, police, help. My brother came calling Help, help. My brother is in trouble. My brother had to continue running otherwise he would have fallen down.My leg was twisted and I remember my grazing touching the ground. My chest was almost choking. The sand was going in my nose, which made me cough out hard and throw up. I controll ed myself and a few minutes later I was up. A policeman was holding my hand. After a while I met a volunteer in the marathon who called my mom. He called my mom and she was very disappointed by the incident. When she was looking around to find me so I shouted as much energy I had, Mom. She pointed toward my direction, upset and disappointed This is the last time we are here in the marathon. We are not coming anymore. , said my mom sternly. We had to finish the marathon because there were no exits. I managed to walk with my mom in the totally messed up event. Afterward we found my brother and his friend at the end point. We told the whole incident to my grandparents and neighbours. That was really the last time we went to a marathon. This is just an incident, which happened to me and can happen to anybody if the safety norms are not followed flop in organizing suck a large scale event. Besides the enjoyment and maintaining health, do you think marathons are good? Its up to you- afte r practice session this, would you like to watch a marathon?

Is K-Pop a Good Influence or Bad Influence?

What is K-Pop? K-pop or known as Korean Pop is a new music genre that was originally come from second Korea, Asia. Some say K-pop offered another style of music which has catchier and offer easy listening songs for their lovers. What makes it different too is that the style the singer has shown is something new for us and how they elicit deliver music on their own way that I believe none of this ever existed before. Just equivalent how they could mix perfectly between the welfargon songs with various kinds of dancing and obviously with their favourable facial gestureing actresses who pull up stakes make anyone who watch it will fall for them.Good morning Sir/ Madam, today I would like to talk to the highest degree how K-Pop brings comfortably acts for many teenagers. The love for K-Pop has been spreading widely nowadays, especially in Indonesia. People ar arguing whether K-Pop brings a good influence or bad influence for teenagers. Firstly, it is fine for teenagers to like K-pop. I believe to be fond of Korean idol is fine. How could I say so? First, as I read on an article, admiring psyche who has professionalism in doing their job will bring a good suggestion to the fans that will suggest the fans to do the same.As it is already a fans nature for admiring and feeling proud to the attitude of their idol. Being a K-pop artist is actually hard, they must have good grade at school because their grades would show whether they are willing to learn or not, and have a good skill that has been examined by the agency and also a good attitude. So thats why professionalism is the most important thing for being a K-pop artist. This professionalism will enforce teenagers to do so.Fans want to be like their idols, K-Pop idols are showing hard working attitude and how they never breach up their dreams and become better as time goes by, for example they undergo packed and inexorable training schedule in order for them to be better and better. Thus it will motiv ates the fans. Another thing that it is already a nature for fans when they love an idol, theyll do everything. Many of K-pop artists are smart, for example is Cho Kyu Hyun who is very smart in Mathematics and has won several Math Olympiads in South Korea, this encourages the fans of Cho Kyu Hyun to study hard as hey are seeing Kyu Hyun as their role model, at the time when Cho Kyu Hyun won several medals he was also in his teenage year, therefore its easy for fans to look upon him because it suits their situation now. Secondly, teenagers could widen their social intercourse and even knowledge. Why? When someone likes K-pop I can make sure that they will not lapse it for her or himself. They will share it with others, for example joining fans gathering, K-pop fans will try to spread the love.By liking K-pop fans usually will forever and a day get the latest updates of their idols as a fans nature is to dig as much as they can as longsighted as its related to their idols and that will force them to be apprised on how to connect themselves with the world that might make them being sophisticated teenagers. Sounds rare? But thats the truth. Knowing K-pop will make fans curious round South Korea itself, as they will be trying to be closer to their idols as much as they can, they would try to learn South Koreas culture and language, this is effectual for teenagers as it could enriches their knowledge about the world outside.Furthermore, I would like to say that K-pop unites the world. Teenagers nowadays are able to meet new fri kiboshs around the world with K-pop fancafe or social networks as they are sharing the same interests. Having friends overseas are good as theyll be using side since English is the ecumenical language and that would train them to speak English more. Articles about K-pop for international fans are also written in English, therefore fans will try to improve their English as they dont want to miss their idols latest updates.Despite the v iew from the adults that liking K-pop will cause teenagers to lose their nationalism, as when someone is obsessed about something, they will do everything related to it and by liking K-pop means that teenagers will spend more time in learning about South Korea and forgetting about Indonesias customs duty and culture. Adults have also been saying that K-pop just gives distraction to teenagers. Especially parents think that their children are distracted from their studies as they always think about K-pop, watching videos about K-pop or reading fan fiction and neglect their studies.Another reason that was given by them is because of the consumerism soul of teenagers. It is true that being K-pop fans is not cheap. Even an record album that only has 5 songs in it could cost Rp. 200,000 . It is a fans nature that they want to meet their idols so when their idols come, they become desperate to watch the concerts and moreover whenever theres concert, merchandises such as light-stick, bann er would be essential for them to cheer their idols and all of those are not cheap. Adults are thinking that its just wasting money.People are saying that K-pop artists are fake and just motivates teenagers to do fictile military operation in order to look pretty or handsome. They are saying that K-pop is all about plastic surgery, the K-pop artists will do it so they can be pretty or handsome and sometimes its necessary if they want to have a lot of fans in Korean music industry. I myself believe that nothing is wrong with plastic surgery, why would we accuse someone for being fake only because they did plastic surgery? Its not like they are doing crime.Every person in this world has their own rights, if the K-pop artists want to do it, then its their rights, it doesnt go against the human rights. Afterall, what is wrong for someone having a desire to have a better look? I don think that this brings bad influence for teenagers, even in South Korea itself, parents usually give the ir children plastic surgery as birthday presents and this motivates the children to be a good and well-mannered child if they want to get plastic surgery as their present. So, I strongly believe that there is nothing wrong with it. All of those are true. However its back to themselves. Its back to their ability to control themselves and to hold their temptation. As long as its consumed wisely, I believe that K-pop will only bring good influences for teenagers as I myself experience it. In my experience, I believe that K-pop has bring good influences into my life. Despite people saying that K-pop will distract me from my studies, I am very sure that it doesnt. In fact, K-pop is one of the main factors that motivates me to study even harder and keep up good marks. I see K-pop as my motivation, I always think that if I study hard and get good results, in the end I can award myself by going to K-pop concerts or buying their official merchandises. Whenever theres a big exam coming, I alway s make a note which says something like Rank 1 = K-pop Concert , and it really motivates me. I really respect all the K-pop artists, they sacrifice everything to chase their dreams.Theres this one quote that always stuck in my head, If you really want one thing, you have to give up on another , said Lee Tae Min, a member of SHINee. It teaches me that if I really want something, I have to stick to it, be consistent and not easily influenced by others, I have to focus on my aims. Moreover, K-pop teaches me to fight for what I want, just as what Minho, a member of SHINee, korean boy group says, If you dont give up your hopes and dreams, then there will always be a good ending. Thank you for your attention and now I end this speech.

Good and Evil (a Wrinkle in Time, and Frankenstein Review) Essay

Life is nevery good or hatred, only if wholly a place for good and evil. Marcus Aurelius. A personal line of credit in while is a book about the journey through the war of good versus evil and the ultimate triumph of love. Every character is understandably distinguished with either good or evil the good characters include jillion, her family, Calvin, the Mrs. Ws, Aunt Beast, and the Happy Medium the evil characters include IT, The Dark Thing, and the worldly concern with the Red Eyes.Frankenstein, on the other hand, is a story told in a series of letters, as Robert Walton, the captain of a ship apprenticed for the North Pole, recounts to his sis back in England the progress of his dangerous mission. Successful early on, the mission is soon to be disturbed by seas full of impassable ice. Trapped, Walton encounters Victor Frankenstein, who had been locomotion by dog-drawn sleigh across the ice and is weakened by the cold. Walton take him abroad the ship, helps nurse him ba ck to health, and hears the fantastic tale of the monster the Frankenstein created. This tale that Frankenstein is reciting reveals the ii sides that a person, or a living creature rotter portray good and evil. Frankenstein was banned in in the south Africa for existence obscene and uncomely, succession A tumble in while was banned for having a fantasy-related genre end-to-end the plot, including witches and demons. Themes atomic number 18 the fundamental and often universal ideas explored in a well- gentleederary work. Slave, I out front reasoned with you, and you defecate proved yourself unworthy of my condescension. Remember that I dupe power you believe yourself miserable, but I can make you so wretched that the light of day will be hateful to you.You are my creator, but I am your master obey (Shelley 149). In Frankenstein, the monster represents evil, as it comes to life, and terrorizes its creator. Dangerous knowledge is an ideal theme in Frankenstein. The pu rsuit of knowledge is right in the middle of Frankenstein, as Victor attempts to go beyond genuine human limits and find out the secret of life. Likewise, Robert Walton attempts to pass the past human explorations by being determined to reach the North Pole. In A railway line In Time, comfort and individuality is a major theme that I saw throughout the plot. The main character, one thousand thousand, is caught between the desire for symmetry and the expression of her profess creative nature. At the beginning of the novel Meg feels embittered towards other students at her school that make fun of her and tease her for being diametric, as well as those who see her little brother as being weird or odd. She desperately wants to be more the likes of her twin brothers who have little fuss fitting in. The theme that the two stories share, and that I have mentioned before, is the theme titled good and evil Suddenly there was a prominent burst of light through the Darkness. The light s pread out and where it touched the Darkness the Darkness disappeared. The light spread until the patch of Dark Thing had vanished, and there was only a gentle shining, and through the shining came the stars, clear and pure. Then, slowly, the shining dwindled until it, too, was gone, and there was nothing but stars and starlight. No shadows. No fear. Only the stars and the clear fantasm of space, quite variant from the fearful menacingness of the Thing (LEngle 102). Its interesting that the defeat of the Black Thing doesnt lead to the universe being lit up like a baseball stadium, but rather to an absence of unnatural darkness. Its almost like the battle isnt so over a lot between evil and good as between evil and the normal. Characters are Plot is no more than footprints left in the snow by and by your characters have run by on their way to incredible destinations Ray Bradbury. In Frankenstein, the main character or the creator of the monster. Victor becomes obsessed with the i dea of creating an stylized human diverseness and eventually attempts to make it. Immediately after creating the monster, he falls into a depression and starts to fear. He leaves the school and returns home to his family, where he finds only tragedy. Not in full aware of the consequences of his creating a new human, he ends up really spending his entire life trying to destroy the same foundation garment he was works to make for so long. In a ruckle In Time however, the protagonist is portrayed a bit differently Meg Murry, The books hero, an awkward, but loving high school student who is sent on an adventure through time and space with her brother Charles Wallace and ally Calvin to rescue her vex from the evil force that is attempting to take over the universe.Megs greatest faults are her anger, impatience, and lack of self- federal agency, but she changes and overcomes them, and in the end is victorious, as the story ends with a stereotypical kids-story ending. A happy ending for the protagonist. The main differences that I saw between the two are the two protagonists Meg Murry (A Wrinkle In Time), and Victor Frankenstein (Frankenstein), are to begin with, set in different times. A Wrinkle In Time could be set anywhere in the fresh past. Frankenstein however, is set in the late 18th century. The whole concept of Frankenstein is much darker, and in fact I would say it could be classified as knightly science fiction, as the characters are much darker, and seem more serious and cold-hearted by the way Shelley describes them compared to the other book. A Wrinkle In Time is much lighter, as the characters, their actions, and abilities are all easier, and always give the advantage to the good guys. Also the whole concept of the book, and the idea of it, is more for a childs imagination to handle and comprehend compared to Frankenstein, and I would classify it as plain science and fantasy fiction.Although these differences shape the stories in totally differ ent directions, there are some similarities The similarities between the characters and their traits are that they both have solid downsides to them. As I mentioned before, Megs (A Wrinkle In Time) faults are her temper, impatience, and lack of confidence in herself, and Victors (Frankenstein) faults are that he is in a depression and great fear throughout the plot after the Monster is created and is woken. another(prenominal) trait I can compare between the two protagonists, are their determination to reach their final goal.Although I cannot see it in either book, but both books were officially banned in one place or another for ridiculous reasons. Frankenstein was banned in South Africa for being obscene and indecent in 1955. Maybe 57 years ago there were different rules and traits a person had to portray to be defined as good, but to make this specific book banned for being obscene (which means that it is offensive or the opposite of accepted manner). A Wrinkle In Time is banned for having witches, crystal balls and demons. Also, because Jesus is listed among the names of great artists, philosophers and teachers, and it is banned in the U. S. Thus strangely are our souls constructed, and by such dainty ligaments are we bound to prosperity or ruin (Shelley 37). All in all, these books have more differences than similarities in my opinion. Although both are really good, one is dark while the other is light compared. The similarities that I saw in the characters, the themes, and the reason they were censored are mostly because of the relationship between good and evil throughout it.Studying these two books and the reason for them being banned has surprisingly changed my life in a minor way, as I learned how people from different cultures and education they grew up with react to different things, and I learned to compare and contrast, not only the books, but real life situations such as the South Africans who banned Frankenstein versus my modus vivendi and way- of-thinking. Life is neither good or evil, but only a place for good and evil. Marcus Aurelius. A Wrinkle in Time is a book about the journey through the war of good versus evil and the ultimate triumph of love.Every character is clearly distinguished with either good or evil the good characters include Meg, her family, Calvin, the Mrs. Ws, Aunt Beast, and the Happy Medium the evil characters include IT, The Dark Thing, and the Man with the Red Eyes. The theme that the two stories share, and that I have mentioned before, is the theme titled good and evil Suddenly there was a great burst of light through the Darkness. The light spread out and where it touched the Darkness the Darkness disappeared. The light spread until the patch of Dark Thing had vanished, and there was only a gent le shining, and through the shining came the stars, clear and pure. Then, slowly, the shining dwindled until it, too, was gone, and there was nothing but stars and starlight. No shadows. No fear. Only the stars and the clear darkness of space, quite different from the fearful darkness of the Thing (LEngle 102). Its interesting that the defeat of the Black Thing doesnt lead to the universe being lit up like a baseball stadium, but rather to an absence of unnatural darkness. Its almost like the battle isnt so much between evil and good as between evil and the normal. Characters are Plot is no more than footprints left in the snow after your characters have run by on their way to incredible destinations Ray Bradbury. In Frankenstein, the main character or the creator of the monster. Victor becomes obsessed with the idea of creating an artificial human form and eventually attempts to make it. Immediately after creating the monster, he falls into a depression and starts to fear. He leave s the school and returns home to his family, where he finds only tragedy. Not fully aware of the consequences of his creating a new human, he ends up really spending his entire life trying to destroy the same creation he was working to make for so long. In a Wrinkle In Time however, the protagonist is portrayed a bit differently Meg Murry, The books hero, an awkward, but loving high school student who is sent on an adventure through time and space with her brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin to rescue her father from the evil force that is attempting to take over the universe.Megs greatest faults are her anger, impatience, and lack of self-confidence, but she changes and overcomes them, and in the end is victorious, as the story ends with a stereotypical kids-story ending. A happy ending for the protagonist. The main differences that I saw between the two are the two protagonists Meg Murry (A Wrinkle In Time), and Victor Frankenstein (Frankenstein), are to begin with, set in di fferent times. A Wrinkle In Time could be set anywhere in the recent past. Frankenstein however, is set in the late 18th century. The whole concept of Frankenstein is much darker, and in fact I would say it could be classified as gothic science fiction, as the characters are much darker, and seem more serious and cold-hearted by the way Shelley describes them compared to the other book. A Wrinkle In Time is much lighter, as the characters, their actions, and abilities are all easier, and always give the advantage to the good guys. Also the whole concept of the book, and the idea of it, is more for a childs imagination to handle and comprehend compared to Frankenstein, and I would classify it as plain science and fantasy fiction.Although these differences shape the stories in totally different directions, there are some similarities The similarities between the characters and their traits are that they both have solid downsides to them. As I mentioned before, Megs (A Wrinkle In Time) faults are her temper, impatience, and lack of confidence in herself, and Victors (Frankenstein) faults are that he is in a depression and great fear throughout the plot after the Monster is created and is woken.Another trait I can compare between the two protagonists, are their determination to reach their final goal. Although I cannot see it in either book, but both books were officially banned in one place or another for ridiculous reasons. Frankenstein was banned in South Africa for being obscene and indecent in 1955. Maybe 57 years ago there were different rules and traits a person had to portray to be defined as good, but to make this specific book banned for being obscene (which means that it is offensive or the opposite of accepted manner).A Wrinkle In Time is banned for having witches, crystal balls and demons. Also, because Jesus is listed among the names of great artists, philosophers and teachers, and it is banned in the U. S. Thus strangely are our souls constructed, an d by such slight ligaments are we bound to prosperity or ruin (Shelley 37). All in all, these books have more differences than similarities in my opinion. Although both are really good, one is dark while the other is light compared. The similarities that I saw in the characters, the themes, and the reason they were censored are mostly because of the relationship between good and evil throughout it. Studying these two books and the reason for them being banned has surprisingly changed my life in a minor way, as I learned how people from different cultures and education they grew up with react to different things, and I learned to compare and contrast, not only the books, but real life situations such as the South Africans who banned Frankenstein versus my lifestyle and way-of-thinking.

As described in problem 7, a procedure was developed to determine the percent zinc in post 1982 pennies. In that procedure 50 ml of an HCl was used to react (dissolve) all of the zinc in the penny. To ensure complete reaction, the solution contains twice as many moles of HCl that is actuallyneeded. To determine the percent zinc in the penny, the excess (unreacted) HCl was titrated with NaOH. Determine the concentration of NaOH needed if you want to use approximately 25 mL of NaOH to titrate the excess HCl. M = .0746 moles of NaOH/.025L NaOHM = 2.98411. Write the balanced chemical reaction of zinc with HCl (same as problem 5). Is the product of this reaction soluble in aqueous solution? Yes soluble Zn(s) + 2HCI (aq) = ZnCI2(aq) + H2(g)12. Write the balanced chemical reaction of the product of the reaction described above (problem 11) with NaOH. Is the product of this reaction soluble in aqueous solution? This way after taken more steps we while maybe be able to find some salt.Steps to do*In the first part of this experiment we are going to dissolve the zinc core of a penny *After that we leave the copper covering intact*We also by putting four notches in the coin using a triangular file and placing the penny in 50ml of a predetermined concentration of HCI overnight*After that we are going to determinate the concentration needed to add 2 times the number of moles of HCI needed in the 50ml of solution *We are going to determinate the percent of copper from the mass of copper and the percent zinc by two methods1. The titration experiment2. The precipitation experiment*Now we first got 10 ml of ZnCI2*To that we added 6 drops of our color indicator (Prenolpthen) *After that we got 50 ml NaOH solution*Than we titrate the ZnCl2 with NaOH*Until we got pink cluster*Now we put the clusters in a paper filter that was dripping the solution living yet the clusters *With a tube we connected a vacuum so this way wewere left with only the salt*After this we put the salt in wish well an oven so that this could dry the salt and this wont be wet*When we took it out all we had was dry salt and we weight it and started our formulasResultsI calculated the percent % of salt of Zn(OH)2. First I determinate the formulas for both, follow by calculating the atomic mass of Zn. First I had to have the weight of the salt, so I did all the procedures on top. My result for the weight of the salt was .33g and the result of the Zn was .2174. To be able to get percent I calculated by dividing 2.174 witch is the grams of Zn and 2.5 grams multiplying the result by 100 = 86.994%Conclusion and discussionDuring Experiment 8 cond ucted April 16 2014. I noticed the difference in the % for the reaction, when titrating ZnCI2 with NaOH solution. For this experiment we did 2 trials since in the first one we did not get any clusters, but on the second trial we did get some and we got more salt than anyone else.

Life & Work of Dr. Maria Montessori Essay

Birth & FamilyMontessori was born in Ancona, Italy. Her father, Alessandro Montessori, 33 years old at the cartridge holder, was an formalized of the Ministry of Finance. Her mother, Renilde Stoppani, 25 years old, was well educated for the times and was probably related to Italian geologist and paleontologist. While she did not have any particular mentor, she was very tight-fitting to her mother who readily encouraged her. She also had a loving relationship with her father, although he disagreed with her choice to continue her education.EducationMaria herself proved remarkably talented. She was a confident and strong-minded lady who excelled in teach by the role of leader in different games and conversations. At the age of thirteen she got admission in a technical school, a thing considered off-limits to females at that time. She scored high marks that when she graduated, in 1886 she was able to enter in the Regio Istituto Tecnico Leonardo da Vinci. present she studied math, na tural sciences, and languages, again excelling beyond all expectations. It was here too that she became fascinated with the biological sciences, and began to dream of pursuing a career in medicine. contempt her gender, she was allowed to study medicine. When she presented her thesis in 1896, her absolute brilliance so impressed the all-male board of review that they awarded her a medical degree, making her Italys first cleaning woman doctor. later on this accomplishment she was promoted to surgical assistant at Santo Spirito, where she had worked previously as medical assistant. As a physician, Montessori specialized in pediatrics and the new battleground of psychiatry. She act question at the University of Rome, joining the university staff in 1897. She became interested in psychology and human behavior, and in 1900, at the elapse of just a short span of four years after her degree in medicine, she accepted a professorship in anthropology at the University of Rome.Work of Dr. Maria MontessoriAfter accepting a professorship in anthropology, Montessori researched & worked on so-called phrenasthenic childrenin modern terms, children experiencing some form of mental retardation, illness, or disability. She also began to travel, study, speak, and publish across the nation and internationally, coming to prominence as an advocate for womens rights and education for mentally disabled children. In Rome during this time, children who were considered mentally deficient were sending in asylums. Montessoris early observations of these asylum children formed a crucial element of her theory that would later influence many people. She observed children who use to crawl on the chronicle to grab crumbs of bread after mealtime and realized that not all children developed through phases of life in the same way. Her initial focus was to rehabilitate mentally retarded children, with behavioral problems, orphans, and the desperately poor.Montessoris early efforts were so sur prisingly successful that she soon had a large following, not only of parents desperate for her help, that of teachers desperate to learn her methods. Montessori was much influenced by the earlier work on child development and psychology, in particular research conducted by Jean-Marc-Gaspard Itard and Edouard Seguin. Their experiments & research were a source of inspiration for Montessori who believed that mental deficiency presented chiefly a pedagogical, rather than mainly a medical problem.Satisfied with the fact that so-called mentally deficient children could learn the same things as normal children, sometimes at a faster pace or by attaining a higher dominance level, Montessori began to focus on working directly with normal children in the field of education. The opportunity to work with normal children came to her in 1907, when she was offered the position of a medical manager for a day-care center that was being organized for working-class children who were too young to a ttend public schools.Casa Dei Bambini (House of Children)The 1st day-care center, imaged Casa dei Bambini (House of Children) was located in the worst slum territory San Lorenzo in Rome on January 6, 1907, & the conditions Montessori faced were atrocious. Its purpose was to provide a space for pre-school age children who were damaging and destroying the houses while their parents were at work. Montessori believed in taking the time to learn from the children, as she herself learned through her observations of the children in the asylums. As Montessori herself wrote, I merely wanted to study the childrens reactions. I asked not to interfere with them in any way as otherwise I would not be able to observe them. Montessori surprised when she saw childrens lack of interest in the toys or the drawing materials and their keen interest in the educational materials. Each educational material had some carefully planned objective that was pre-determined by Montessori. impropriety of the pu pil was fundamental method according to her.The spread of Montessori education in ItalyThe first Casa dei Bambini was a success, and a second was opened on April 7, 1907. The children in her programs continued to exhibit concentration, attention, and spontaneous self-discipline and the classrooms began to attract the attention of prominent educators, journalists, and public figures. Three more Case dei Bambini opened in 1908, and in 1909 Italian Switzerland began to put back Froebellian methods with Montessori in orphanages and kindergartens.International Recognition and Growth of Montessori EducationAs early as 1909, Montessoris work began to attract the attention of international observers and visitors. Her work was widely published internationally, and spread rapidly. By the end of 1911, Montessori education had been officially adopted in public schools in Italy and Switzerland, and was planned for the United Kingdom. By 1912, Montessori schools had opened in Paris and many oth er Western European cities, and were planned for Argentina, Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Switzerland, Syria, the United States, and New Zealand. Public programs in London, Johannesburg, Rome, and Stockholm had adopted the method in their school systems. Montessori societies were founded in the United States as AMI (the Montessori American Committee) and the United Kingdom (the Montessori Society for the United Kingdom).Maria Montessoris writings were also being translated to different languages. She was continually giving lectures around the world where she is always welcomed. She also continued her research and application of her principles to school aged and preschool aged children as well as infants from birth. Her research about the childs early years is written in Absorbent Mind (1949). Alternatively she also took notice of the social possibilities based on the idea that true education is an armament of peace. In 1939 she flew to India where she met Mahatma Ga ndhi.In 1949 she addressed UNESCO where she received an ovation. She was recognize with the Legione dHonneur and received an honorary of Doctor of philosophy from the University of Amsterdam.Awards and RecognitionMontessori truly deserved and referred to as a lady much ahead of her time. She was a true pioneer of a modern education system. She was honored by many countries with royal, civic and academic awards and was nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1949, 1950 and 1951. Regarding her work and efforts in educational sector her conceive of was on Italian 200 lire coin and in 1990 on the 1000 lire bill.Montessoris DeathMaria Montessori died in the Netherlands on May 6, 1952 aged 81. Her name always lives through the method of teaching that she introduced because she said once that, I did not invent a method of education, I simply gave some itsy-bitsy children a chance to live. She was truly a woman ahead of her time.

Intercultural Communications Essay

whale Rider is a contemporary fairy guide, which depicts our celebration to our ghostly bond together with our natural environment. In particular it shows the celebration of our spiritual bond with the maritime, and its creatures the track downs. It has its basis on a Maori legend, transcends local space and time. The occupy evokes concerns as to the relationship that exists between human with the natural world. It alike depicts the role women play in the spiritual traditions as can be seen in the story of Pai (Keisha castling Hughes) who is eleven years old. The tale takes place within the heart of Maori kinfolk. It is filmed on authentic tribal property in Whangara on the east border of New Zealand North Island. There is participation of the Ngati Konohi elders and other members of the tribe. Niki Caro who is the screenwriter lived within the tribe before the film was released (Farrell, 299-300). He created a respectful and exuberant portrait of a story that is unique. Fro m the beginning of the film the viewer is immersed in Pais world, with active imagination that she has, her child like realm and also the ageless wisdom, which corresponds to the bring down of antediluvian whales. This is what draws her to be able to fulfill her destiny. Her destiny has its roots in conflict and there is demand for intuitive wisdom, visionary actions and also a intrepid wisdom to be able to accomplish this destiny. Her mother and her twin brother passed away during childbirth. She was named after Paikea who was a legendary ancestor who arrived in New Zealand carried on back of a whale. Pai father left his community with great grief and feeling incapable to offer a son who would continue succession of chiefs. He starts a new life by undertaking a course in fine arts in Germany.Pai is taken c be of by her terrific parents. In the process there is a strong bond that is formed between Pai and her grandad Pako. The grandfather watches her and realized that she had g reat interest to change the traditional ways (Reinhardt, pg 10-11). The grandfather has the aim to preserve the succession of the tribe and makes an appointment of a male to replace him. Despite this Pako has to make struggles in order to upkeep the tradition of the society alive. There is social and spiritual crisis in the society. There is also disintegration of the community because there is no one to succeed him in the society. In order to be able to revive the ancient lore he starts a school where boys are taught native teachings on martial arts. Girls and women are not allowed to attend this school. However, Pai breaks this traditional because of the irresistible force by her many attempts to participate the classes which were intended to be attended by male warriors. The hopes by Pako to expose the next leader weakens as all the boys fail in their final test. Pai is protected by her grandmother because of her rebellious character. The grandmother recognizes her inborn affini ty with the ancient myths that existed in the society. There is a beautiful scene which depicts the wise woman and the girl sitting gazing on the ocean. The ocean is lit by the radiance of the skillful moon (Rountree, pg 98-100). This shows the mysteries that women have in their spirituality and also reflects the special bond that women have with the moon and the sea. All through the film the ocean looks as an light entity shimmering in rich shades of blue, grey and turquoise. It reflects the sky, the moonlight, sunlight a mediating body that connects the people with their spiritual origins. The whales and the ocean depict the fusion of nature and spirit. Therefore, when a convention of whales is washed near the shore their destiny is metaphorically connected with the survival of the tribe. As can be seen from the film the conservatism and rigidity of the male henpecked traditions makes the tribe to be disintegrated. Even with the support of his people Pako is cannot save the whale s. There is mourning of the revered creatures and tribes mythical lifeline. There is no one in from the tribe who dares to envision what is to come in future. The luxurious photography which is taken underwater and enhanced by digital effects and models together with the energizing rhythms of performance, editing and sounds depicts the conversion of Pai into a whale rider. Pais body works together with the ancient creature. His soul makes communication with creatures awareness. She is able to awaken the dying whale ride ion its back and guides the herd to go back to the depths of the ocean. She entrusts her fate to the ocean. She does not fear to die and she is guided by an instinct and insight beyond time. The whales and the ocean responds by bringing Pai back to the shores of the ocean with the tide. There is a new leader who has been born and there is also beginning of a new era. Whale Rider provides a powerful message of hope and watching this film provides a healing experience. It is a unique cinematic vision which gives an impression to the fictive potential of the female spirit. The film depicts the theme of female empowerment in an ordinary way save the way that the context in which it is depicted is unique. that like many tribal societies the Maoris are patriarchal. In this society the thought of a female leader is not thinkable, and also goes against the traditions of the society. The film reveals what might pass along if a girl appear to have been talented with mystical capabilities of becoming a leader or a chief in that kind of a society. The film provides a more positive point of view showing that despite the fact that change is necessary it is not supposed to destroy shade and tradition of a society. Pai aim is not to destroy the customs and traditions of the society which have existed for more than one thousand years but to reshape it and continues with the selfsame(prenominal) traditions and customs. Leonard, pg 15-22).The film looks like a study of sociology but this is only its background. The film is uplifting as it shows a girl who defies any odds to be able to achieve her goals. There is use of humor in order to keep the tone of the overall film light although there are some moments of deeper pricey pathos. The relationships and characters in the film are three dimensional. The most rewarding relationship in this film is that of Pai and her grandfather. This is shown especially at the start of the film where we see that the grandfather has genuine care for her granddaughter. For the daughter all what she wants is to earn respect from the grandfather. This is depicted as she gives a speech dedicated to her grandfather. Keisha is just as wonderful as Pai. This is because she shows unflagging spirit and great determination. The afro mentioned speech is the best scene shown by the actress. She presents the speech in an amazing way and even sheds tears. Koro is depicted as a stern and humorless man but not a villain. He is depicted as a man of strong values who cannot let go the rigidity of his upbringing (Reinhardt, pg 10-11).When Koro starts a new school in order to supplement the secular education of the young boys, Pai wishes to join the school too but she is rebuffed harshly in her attempts. She shows depth of character as she simultaneously quest for equality. She is also aware that her grandfather would not be willing to make her pick out her desires because of his strong attachment to patriarchal values. Her close relationship with her grandmother who lived a life that is universally recognizable to Americans provides warmth and support to Pai in her quests for equality (Leonard, pg 15-22).The film has is thrilling as it unfolds seamingly with Maori music and rituals which bridges the spoken language. Whale Rider never becomes a saccharine because it is partly a straight tale and also partly a gripping mystical fable. Just like in many modern films the music and the Maori songs complem ent but do not grapple with the dialogue which is a welcome change in films. The film whale rider has a different and a more powerful approach. In the film there are no whites and there are only children t-shirts and some music which comes from a boom box that suggest the encroaching force of the legal age who had control (Rountree, pg 98-99).

Caliban’s Feelings Towards Propero Essay

In this essay I will tell you ab surface(predicate) Calibans feelings towards Prospero, how Prospero treats Caliban and a chain of exploitation involving Caliban and Prospero. Caliban is the rightful owner of an island that Prospero, an ex-duke of Milan and a cause of sensation, and his missy Miranda, a girl who was only 3 years obsolescent when her father was overthrown by his brother Antonio and pities people who are harmed by her fathers magic, took over when they arrived on the island and managed to control Caliban with his magic.Caliban finds more people to work with, when Prospero station wrecked their boat, called Trinculo and Stephano and plan to pull down Prospero. After Prospero took over the island Caliban has tried to reclaim it but is then punished by Prosperos magic. When Caliban talks to Trinculo and Stephano just about hard to reclaim the island from him he tells how he was usurped As I told thee before, I am subject to a tyrant, a sorcerer, that by his cunni ng hath cheated me of the island. The words tyrant and sorcerer display Prospero as an evil and cruel master, when Caliban calls him a tyrant means that he sees Prospero is a person who exercises power in a harsh, cruel manner. In the quote it says he was cheated me of the island shows that he was ill-treated by Prospero and suggests that Caliban has been made inferior. In song 106 Caliban asks Stephano if he will destroy Prospero, the use of the word destroy tells the auditory modality that Caliban hates Prospero so much he doesnt only want to kill him he wants to hurt him so much that the broken beyond repair, and he wants them to kick around his skull.Cut his wezand (his windpipe/throat)paunch him, punching is when you cut an animals stomach area and all its intestines fall out and you then clean the intestines to get out the good meat. The way Prospero treats Caliban according to Caliban he is ill-treated by Prospero and tells Stephano the ways he is cruel to him, I say by sor cery he got this isle, from me he got it..Revenge on him for I know thou darst, when Caliban tells Stephano that he was usurped by cruel magic he asks how now shall this be compassed? Canst thou bring me to the ships company, Stephano is asking Caliban how will he get his revenge and rouse he come along to help Caliban. Stephano agrees with Caliban that he was ill-treated and happily agrees the help kill Prospero and in return he gets to rule the island and adjudge Caliban and Trinculo as his viceroys. While Caliban is telling Stephano of all the horrid things he wants to do to Prospero he tells him about his daughter Miranda and Caliban says Ay, lord, she will become thy bed, I warrant, and bring thee forth brave brood the exploitation is that Caliban is telling Stephano that he can force Miranda to sleep with him and give drive home to many children at his pleasure, the irony in this is that Caliban exploiting Miranda, the person who has always been exploited. When Caliban asks Stephano if he will help kill his master he says beat him enough, after a little time Ill beat him too the exploitation in this quote is to Prospero because they are implying that they can easily overpower him and beat him, in line 106 Caliban asks Stephano Wilt thou destroy him then, the word destroy tells that he does not only think he can overpower him but have enough strength to destroy him, this exploitation is no ironic because Prospero used his strength to exploit Caliban.Whilst Caliban is listing the ways he wants to kill Prospero he tells Stephano and Trinculo introductory possess his books for without them hes but a sot He is telling them this because he knows how weak he can be without his magic and his books and how operose he is with them. The fact that Caliban knows his weaknesses tells the audience that he has been planning to get revenge on his master, now he has formed an alliance with Stephano and Trinculo means that he can put his plan into action and finally ge t revenge on his old cruel master Prospero. He follows on from this and says burn but his books he has brave utensils- for so he calls them Caliban is saying that you can burn anything you want except his books because they hold great power and will be a type of trophy they gain for killing Prospero. In the story of The Tempest I think that Caliban and Prosperos relationship is bad because at the beginning they argue about whose island it is.Later on in the story Caliban finds Stephano and Trinculo and makes an alliance with them, he then promises to show and tell them the best springs are in return for some wine, he also gets them to help him get his revenge on Prospero. Prospero doesnt like Caliban because he abuses Miranda and always threatens him and tries not to help them live their lives. Overall I think Prospero and Calibans relationship is the worst in the whole story and doesnt improve and only gets worst.

Summary of World Future Society

The article authorize World Future Society talks on how the world economic system has made disparate countries interconnected with each other through the growth of the information and technology system.Nowadays, the current trend of bulky development within the field of information technology has offgrown all of the technological innovations from the past decades altogether. And as such, businesses crossways countries rely heavily on such developments in this field. However, despite these improvements and developments in the realm of information technology, this kindred field is also deemed as the probable reason of economic breakdown in the future. The saturation in terms of market and development, the inevitable breakdown and its characteristic vulnerability to error may be go through in the future in this field and will greatly affect how the system will run away and how certain business enterprises will respond. In addition, the development in this field will enormously put into endangerment the individual talents that each person holds. As such, though technological development may be one of the great achievements ever discovered by human beings, it still has downsides that the society must carefully watch out for.Although it has been proven that through the years, technological innovations allowed for great changes and development in the society, too much reliance on it may be dangerous to the people in general.ReferenceBrown, A. “Good Country people” and “Where are you going, Where have you been?” Essay

There be many similarities between the short stories true(p) Country People and Where atomic number 18 you going, Where progress to you been?, most notably their characters. She shows her true color in once she is confronted. In Good Country People, Joy is a relatively normal girl with some not-too-normal problems. For one thing, her leg got blown off when she was younger in a bizarre hunt club accident. This physical change made her completely self conscious, and essentially ruined her life. She could nolonger be happy being herself, because she sees herself as true ugliness now. Thus, she feels forced to make herself what she thinks she is. She hates beauty now, and changes everything about her to seem ugly. Shes been to college, and yet still acts childish. Shes trying to be young, and ugly. And Manley Pointer notices this quality of her, and takes advantage of her. No matter how ugly she tries to be, he still tries to (or at least pretends to) like her for who she is. Hulga is, regardless of her ugly campaign, highly flattered, and lets her guard dow n long enough for Manley to get away with her glasses, her leg, and more importantly, her dignity. She is also played for a fool based completely on her own insecurities. She too is a victim of a conman who notices that things arent always what they seem.Connie and Hulga are very similar, as characters, and yet very different all the same. They both have their insecurities, and they are both easily preyed on by conmen and smooth talkers, but their insecurities are in all different realms. They both want what the other has, and due to this, they are constantly trying to be somebody else, not themselves, and this is what makes them so easy to attack. They dont know who they really are, and they think they want to be something else. This naivety is their downfall they pretend to be something else, join a group they shouldnt be in, and they are tempted by the men in these groups. But, when the tables turn, and their men arent what they appear to be, Connie and Hulga revert completely, from relatively confident phonies to whine little girls, helpless and hopeless, in their fake lives. These two women are seemingly innocent, random bystanders picked by older smarter conmen. However, one could easily hold them responsible for their own fates. Not that the victim in a discourtesy is to blame, but, honestly, if you leave your car door open, with the keys inside, and the motor running, while you go inside a store for a few hours, how can you possibly seem shocked when it gets stolen? These two women, whether they believe it or not, are wafture hundreds of flags at these conmen Please target me Take my leg By openly flaunting their insecurities and by allowing themselves to be captivated to the point of trusting the conmen, they are, if not wholly, then at least partially responsible for their own fates. They reached theirown conclusions, and they got what they deserved.Connie and Hulga are the same person, essentially a woman with different problems wishes to be something that they are not, and wiser and smoother conmen see this, and take advantage of them. In the end, they are proven to be the phonies that they really are, and are left more vulnerable, and more open, than they were before they tried to infiltrate the world in which they didnt belong. If there were a overlap moral to these stories, and there is most definitely not an obvious one, theyd both be someplace along the lines of Be happy with what you have, because you tycoon not belong anywhere else, and in the cases of Connie and Hulga, this moral fits perfectly. They are the same person with different circumstances, and they are so easily preyed on by the wiser smoother conman. As these stories blatantly state, be happy with what you have. You might not fit anywhere else, and one day, someone might just call you on your bluff, to disastrous consequences.

Bourgeoisie & money

The pictures represent the sense of the people. Not only are they struggling to introduce what they have and who they are they are still seeking. In their eyes they are looking for a authority a way forward or a way by of their situation. The images reflect that control the bourgeoisie had over the workings discriminate. They controlled the money and the industry. Those who did the labor to make the production levels received very little return for their efforts. Neither monetarily or in satisfaction of what they were doing. This is reflected in many of these pictures.A person in the industrial working class often lived a life of want. Never having enough income or wealth to move out of the social class they were in. Resentment was a common emotion towards the Bourgeoisie from the industrial working class. This emotion is what Marxism used to build a movement around, The working class felt there was nothing they could do to get up to the next level of what they perceived as social classification. The latter nineteenth coulomb gave birth to a generation who was resentful of where they were at in social class.A generation who wanted to a greater extent than the Bourgeoisie were willing to part with. The Bourgeoisie had control and were very protective of the control they enjoyed. The working class was hoping for a way out of their situation they wanted more control and more freedom that increase control and wealth could give them. The pictures identify clearly the emotion of this segment of society and the yearning for something different. in that location are no answers in their eyes, only questions and confusion. The answers and clarity they were seeking was still a generation away.

Conformity and anarchy and through unusual language Essay

Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk explores the theme of masculinity through clever characterisation, exploration of conformity and anarchy and through unusual linguistic communication. The traditional role of firearm was as the head of the family unit. Looking after and providing for his wife and children in the hunter-gatherer role. What if a man has no wife and children? What is his role? What if the man comes from a broken family where he had no father? How is he supposed to hold up a good male lifespan if he has no good example to follow? These be some of the issues that Chuck Palahniuk confronts on the theme of masculinity in Fight Club. In this audition I will explore the authors use of characterisation, conformity, anarchy and interesting and unusual language in support of this main theme. The characterisation of the main figure is executed particularly well. The characters of Joe and Tyler are vigorously interwoven throughout the novel until the readers realisation that th ey are both actually the equivalent person. There are a lot of hints in the novel, which suggest this up until it is actually revealed. Several multiplication the narrator, Joe, says,I know this because Tyler knows this. This could be taken as meaning that they are very close friends and govern each other everything or that they are both the same person. The author too refers to the idea of eight-fold personalities in,If I could wake up in a different place, at a different time, could I wake up as a different person?I think that this illustrates the concept that Joe is a chronic insomniac and changes personality in his sleep. There are many similarities between Joe and Tyler up until we come apart they are the same person. They both love Marla but only Tyler sleeps with her. This provides comic moments when we realise that all through the book Marla has been talking to Joe as her lover but Joe has been talking to her as his friends girlfriend. two Joe and Tyler end up feel sta ndardized each other, Tyler and I were looking more and more like Identical Twins. Both of us had punched-out cheekbones, and our skin had lost its memory, and forgot where to slide back after we were hit.Tyler starts off looking beautiful, an idyllic version of Joe, he is what Joe wishes he could be. This is indicated inperfectly handsome and an angel in his everything-blond way. He is smart, funny, and knows all of the interesting facts that Joe wishes he knew, like how to break security locks and make C4 explosives. Joe, after discovering how boring his life is asks,Deliver me Tyler from being perfect and complete,In my opinion Tyler starts as an angelic, saviour figure and turns into an mephistophelean alter ego once Joe finds out the truth. The key Fight Club theme of masculinity is explored by examining the notions of, conformity and Anarchy. The theme of conformity and non-conformity is examined by the contrast between Joes honcho and Tyler. Joes boss who wears a different t ie for each day of the week plays the stereotypical male role. He contrasts at present with Tyler who squats in a house in the warehouse district, urinates in tomato soup at a hotel and splices single frames of pornography into family movies. He is the ultimate non-conformist. This is the exact opposite ofMister Boss with his midlife spread and family photo on his desk and his dreams about early retirement and winters spent at a trailer-park hookup in some genus Arizona desert.I believe this represents the American Dream and conformity contrasted against Tylers vision of anarchy and chaos in a non-conformist nightmare. The language choice in this seems dismissive of the boss dream. Some suggests that the dream is irrelevant. The boss also represents Joes idea of his father. Joe believes thatIf youre male, and youre Christian and living in America, your father is your model for god. And sometimes you find your father in your career.

Feds vs Anti-Feds

Federalism vs. Anti-Federalism Federalism is the division of power between subject field and verbalize establishment. Anti-Federalists believe that power should be equal between the nation and assure. An example of Federalism in the writing is in the 10th amendment, which says that the power that the congress doesnt have is given to the states. This divides power between congress (national government) and the state (local government). The federalists believed that the Articles of Confederation were too weak. They wanted to ratify the constitution. They also wanted a strong central government. The federalists wrote the Federalist Papers. A few people associated with the Federalists were Jay and Hamilton. They wanted a separation of powers into three independent startes that protect the rights of the people. Each branch would represent a different aspect of people, and no one group can assume concord over another because all three branches would be equal. The Federalists think th at a listing of right is dangerous. If the national government were to protect specific listed rights, nothing would stop people from violating rights other than the listed ones. So, they argued that it is better to list no rights at all. Overall, the Federalists had more organized efforts. The Anti-Federalists did not want to ratify the constitution. They just wanted to amend the articles. The Anti-Federalists idea that the constitution gave too much power to the national government at the expense of state governments. It was believed that because of the essential and Proper Clause, congress had too much power, and the executive branch also held too much power. doubting doubting Thomas Jefferson was an example of an Anti-Federalist.The Anti-Federalists wanted a bill of rights. This was the focus of their campaign against the ratification. The Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to added to the constitution to protect liberty. The reason they wanted a bill of rights was becau se they didnt want an intimidating nations government pickings away the peoples rights again. In an hypothetical election, I would vote for Alexander Hamilton (the federalist) over Thomas Jefferson (the anti-federalist). I choose this because I believe that we should have a strong central government. Our sphere is establish on the power of the government and if the center of the government is weak, then it will effect the rest of the government little by little. We study the constitution because it is a large part of our governments history, and we atomic number 18 able to learn how decisions were made about the government in the modern day and how much it has evolved from colossal ago. We are also able to see differences and learn from things that have happened in the past. It is a part of our country and government that cant be avoided.

Chemistry - Essay ExampleAluminium is metallic element with atomic human body 13 and it will combine by loosing two electrons. Beryllium and aluminium atomic come up 18 metals and will combine with other elements by loosing electrons while oxygen will combine by gaining electrons, therefore our empirical formula will have the following formulaIsotopes of an element have the same number of protons but differ in the number of neutrons the atomic number is equal to the number of protons therefore Pn has the atomic number 117. Because atoms are neutral then the number of electrons is equal to the number of neutrons. The atomic number is 117 this representation that the electronic arrangement is 2 81832507 this is given by the formula 2N2 which give us the maximum number of electrons in each cell where N is the remonstrate number. We have 6 shells and 7 electrons in the last shell, this center that the element belongs to the 7th period and the seventeenth group. The empirical formul a will be Pn2O7 because oxygen will tend to gain two electrons or loose 6 electrons and Pn will also tend to gain one electron or loose 7 electrons, therefore the highest normal oxide will be loosing Pn loosing seven electrons and Oxygen gaining two electrons.Six decays means loosing six neutrons, and bearing in mind that the number of neutrons is equal to the number of electrons and that the number of electrons is equal to the number of protons then our resulting element will have an atomic number 67-6 = 61.
